HTPC(W8+ML) : Part 3

At this point in time, I have a working HTPC that can boot to either Windows 8 or Mountain Lion.  Where do we go from here?

There are a couple of options to explore.  Obviously a video card would be mighty nice for anything beyond the typical youtube/netflix usage.

Also, on the mac side – it would be nice if I can acquire the bluetooth dongle to use a mac keyboard + track pad

Looking back, the ga-h61n-usb3 was the wrong choice for this project; the limited number of SATA ports, lack of internal USB3.0 port meant there are parts of the Elite 120 enclosure that is left empty/unconnected.

Plus, having experienced UEFI, it’s hard to go back to BIOS.

Right now, this is a nice, compact, quiet system that can be paired up with a large modern TV and bring the full power of Mac/Windows that other set-top boxes cannot match.  It is not the cheapest option, but it is nice to be able to quickly grab this and be able to use it as a complete computer rather than an embedded, scaled down, or mobile operating system.     It may be overkill for the general consumer, but for power users and tech folks, there really is no substitute.
